Navigating CalPlan
Navigating CalPlan introduces participants to the CalPlan application and the forms used to enter all budget data except for compensation expenses, which are entered into the Human Capital Planning (HCP) application. The pre-requisite for this course is CalPlanning: Intro & Reporting or equivalent knowledge
This blended learning course is structured in two parts:
- Self-study reading and completing step-by-step exercises in a Training (non-production) environment. Expected time to complete: 2-4 hours
- Group session held online using Zoom. The session is 1½ hours.
If neeed, you can sign up for office hours to get support for the self-study portion of the course, which must be completed prior to the group session. Enroll in Navigating CalPlan to receive an invitation to the online group session and get credit for completing the course.

- Input and edit non-compensation budget data into CalPlan Forms

- Update Data in Form
- Adjust Internal Operating Transfers Mgmt Form
- Drill Through - Account Details Form
- Drill Through - Account Summary Form
- Actualized Forecast Form
- Add comments to data entries
- Export data to Excel
- Run a report from the CalPlan repository
