These instructions are for entering data from the CalPlanning web interface. If you prefer to use Smart View for Planning, see Smart View for Planning.

Entity levels for entering and viewing data
Open the app and the form
- Connect to the bSecure Remote Access VPN or Citrix.
- Go to CalPlanning at https://calpln-rptportal.berkeley.edu/workspace/index.jsp
- Login using your CalNet ID.
- From the Navigate menu, select Applications > Planning > CalPlan.
5. Expand the Campus Budget Process Task List and select Multiyear Budget Template to open the budget template form.
6. The Multiyear Budget Template is opened. When the selected Entity is an L4 Department, the form allows data entry within the Planner’s access as shown in the screenshot below.

Enter data for your entity at L4 Department level.

Change the entity to L3 Division to see a summary of the L4 Departments in your Division.
To change the entity:
1. Open the Entity drop-down list
2. Select an L4 department (in black type) to enter your budget or select an L3 division (in blue type) to view your budget.
3. Select the Go button (right arrow) to refresh the data with your new selection
Enter plan data in the form
- With an L4 selected, enter numeric data for FY24 and FY25.
- Select Save to commit the edits to the database.
Add Comments
You can add comments at either the L4 Department or L3 Division entity levels. See Add Comments for the guidance on adding comments.
View L4 Details
When you have a division (L3) selected, you can drill down on an account to see the details in the departments (L4).
1. Right-click on the account and select BudTemp Acct Details.
2. The Multiyear Budget Template presents the details for the account by the L4 Department entities.
3. To return to the summary view, select the Multiyear Budget Template link in the upper left corner.
